Give your furniture a new life.

Reupholstery, repairs and upholstery for new furniture. Workshop at Kroloftet in Oslo.

Reuse

Look after the furniture you have

Reupholstering a sofa instead of buying a new one cuts its climate impact by around 60%. Calculate how much you save.

Longer life

A solid frame lasts a long time. With new padding and a new cover it can keep going.

Less waste

We keep what is in good condition and only replace what is worn.

Same function, new look

The shape and function are kept. A different fabric can transform the piece if a new look is wanted.

Projects for businesses

We work for restaurants, offices, clinics and the public sector in the Oslo region – from reupholstering existing furniture to new built-in pieces. We also offer site visits.

About Trekkeriet

Trekkeriet was founded by Ida Öberg in 2020. Her expertise comes from training at Träakademien in Kramfors, Sweden, and two and a half years' experience at Pebes Tapetserareverkstad in Gothenburg. Trekkeriet also has expertise in developing new furniture, technical drawing and product design.

At Trekkeriet, individual pieces and larger interiors alike are given a new lease of life. The workshop reupholsters everything from armchairs and Lamino chairs to restaurant benches and furniture for hotels, clinics and gyms. Trekkeriet also works with architects, furniture manufacturers and cabinetmakers on new built-in furniture, and takes on work for the public sector and the film and events industry.

Reupholstering furniture helps keep a Norwegian craft tradition alive. Upholstery is one of Norway's small, endangered crafts. There are few practitioners, and the knowledge is best kept alive by being used.

Trekkeriet is based at Kroloftet in Etterstad, Oslo. Nearly 150 freelancers and small businesses in culture and crafts share workspace and workshops here. Cabinetmakers, architects, artists and craftspeople from many different trades work under the same roof. Experience, ideas and knowledge are shared across disciplines, and the mix of people creates a unique environment.
